Dining Review: Brasserie Quarré at the Hotel Adlon Berlin
Brasserie Quarré is the brasserie dining option at the Hotel Adlon, famous for both its hotel history and views to the Brandenburg Gate. We booked dinner for a June evening in 2025, and here is what diners considering a meal here can genuinely expect.
Setting and Atmosphere at Brasserie Quarré
The vibe is upscale and relaxed.
Our plans were to dine on the terrace overlooking the Brandenburg Gate, but the weather had other ideas, so we dined inside. The light spacious dining had high ceilings and marble floors, and plenty of space between each of the White Tablecloth tables. Despite the space there was still a quiet buzz in the restaurant, with an international crowd enjoying a weekday dinner.
From arrival to dessert, the service was attentive and friendly. The multilingual waiting staff ensured our lack of German wasn’t an issue when choosing the right dishes and wine.

Food and Drink on the Brasserie Menu
You can expect an appealing mix of international specialities and upscale local classics on the menu. From freshly shucked Fine de Claire N°2 oysters paired with single malt whisky to inventive takes on Berlin street food like the legendary truffle-topped veal loin döner and the famous currywurst finished with genuine gold leaf. There are plenty of dishes for Vegetarians with vegans and allergies well catered for.
As our first night dinner in the city, our choices were a little more reserved. They included a starter of creamy burrata paired with fresh figs, tomatoes, and crisp flatbread. I ordered the classic Wiener Schnitzel served with a vibrant pot of cranberries and a lemon wrapped in yellow mesh, whilst Katherine enjoyed Risotto aux Petit Pois. Dinner was a beautiful Creme Brulee, with two spoons.
To drink, we selected a bottle of dry German wine, specifically a crisp Rheingau Riesling Trocken from Weingut Robert Weil. Whilst we’d usually prefer a French grape, this was a beautiful wine that complimented our great dinner
Verdict on Dining at the Hotel Adlon
Brasserie Quarré is a very good dining option within the Adlon, offering a classic, high-end brasserie meal right in the historic heart of Berlin. We enjoyed our evening here, and I would ecourage you to try it. Lunch or dinner here is a solid, reliable choice that lets you experience the historic Hotel Adlon without committing to a full stay.
For a long time, the Hotel Adlon has held a certain fascination for me. It is the legendary address on Unter den Linden next to the Brandenburg Gate where journalists stayed during World War II. After dinner, we had a look around the public areas of the hotel and liked what we saw.
As part of the Kempinski hotel group, it offers a great taste of luxury hospitality standards. Looking back, while the Adlon looks marvellous, I think we ultimately chose the right hotel for our stay by sticking with the Hotel de Rome down the road.
Is Brasserie Quarré Worth It?
Yes I think it is. The dinner, which covered three courses plus that bottle of wine, came to £278, which for one of the finest hotels, and hotel brasseries in the city I felt was great value.
Brasserie Quarré Dress Code
When planning a visit, it is worth noting the Brasserie Quarré dress code enforced across the Hotel Adlon. The requirement is defined as smart, or 'neat and elegant' (such as collared shirts, nice trousers, blouses, or blazers). Sportswear, including tracksuits, shorts, tank tops or flip-flops, is not welcomed in the brasserie or any other restaurant within the hotel.

Brasserie Quarré sits inside the Hotel Adlon on Unter den Linden, mere steps from the Brandenburg Gate and the S+U Brandenburger Tor underground station (served by the U5 line)
While we chose to stay down the road at the Hotel de Rome for its Rocco Forte connections, walking over from there is an easy stroll straight down the boulevard, and local underground transit links make the area straightforward to reach from anywhere in the city.
